ILGISA is excited to announce it will be hosting a webinar series on Python instructed by Burt McAlpine, GISP, GIS Coordinator for JULIE, Inc. This webinar series will consist of 4 webinars - each one getting more advanced than the next. Register for one, two, three or all four of the webinars. Registration for this webinar is FREE for ILGISA Members. For non-members, there will be a nominal $10 fee per webinar. Please see the event breakdown below for further details:

This series will be geared to folks with zero python or programming experience:

If you have never dealt with python and you miss a webinar, you will be lost!
If you know python, but not arcpy, you could likely skip the first two webinars.

Dates & Times:

Wednesday, September 4th @ 2PM - 3PM (CST): Python? I’ve Never Heard of it
We will start to learn the very basics of python: variables, objects, iterators, formatting, etc. If you have no idea what those are then this is the place to start.
Wednesday, September 11th @ 2PM - 3PM (CST): Python: More Than the Basics
We will continue to learn python basics. Looking at functions, loops, other included modules. All stuff we need to know before we start with arcpy.
Wednesday, September 18th @ 2PM - 3PM (CST): Arcpy: GIS, Finally!
We will start with some geoprocessing, cursors, field delimiters. All of this will work in ArcPro or ArcGIS Desktop
Wednesday, September 25th @ 2PM - 3PM (CST): Arcpy II: Continuation of Previous Session
Might cover more geoprocessing or might go into mapping (ArcGIS Desktop)/mp (ArcPro), just depends on what the participants think would benefit them the most. No need to teach them something they will never use!
